Hiring Practices

A potential employee, pre-screened by Generations Human Resources Director, must spend time in a “Model Teacher” classroom.  The Model Teacher offers standardized feedback on the candidate’s interactions. The candidate completes an interview with the Site Director and submits references before being offered a position. This process helps ensure only qualified, caring people work in our centers.

Orientation

All new employees participate in extensive company orientation conducted by Generations Human Resources Director. Employees learn company policies and procedures.

Background Investigation

Generations Child and Elder Care is committed to providing a safe and nurturing work environment for employees, children and seniors. Generations is required by the State and the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) to obtain background information on all employees which may include but not limited to misdemeanor or felony chanrges, a medical condition statement, verification of licenses, address history verification, and personal/professional references. Employment at Generations Child and Elder Care is contingent upon successful completion of these requirements.
