Our Gates Child Care Center first opened its doors in 1993 and moved to its current location in 2008. The center is not only spacious and open, but enjoys multiple outdoor spaces and playgrounds as well. The large outdoor space makes spending summers at this location exciting. Our Gates center is particularly unique because in addition to child care, we have our elder care at this facility as well! Children can walk down the hall to visit with the grandmas and grandpas and we often incorporate intergenerational activities into our schedule. Gates is located at the Former Washington Irving Elementary School.
For children within the Gates-Chili School District, Generations offers a free Universal Pre-K Program.

A Word From Our Site Director:
My name is Jenn Mehlenbacher and I am the site director for the Gates site. I am excited to join the Generations family! I have 35 years of experience working with children from birth to middle school. I was a nanny in high school, earned my BS in Elementary Education and taught grades K-5 for seven years both in NY and NC. I earned my MS in Early Childhood Education from SUNY Geneseo while raising my children and running a small in-home day care for 4 years where my husband and I still live. Most recently I worked for Child Care Council. In my role there I was able to provide support to parents looking for quality child care and I trained child care providers and ensured that their programs met NYS regulatory requirements.
I believe that children are the best of us. They are born innocent, pure, loving, compassionate, and curious. They have unlimited promise and can do and be anything they dream. I want to be a part of their journey; to ensure that every child is supported, loved and given positive experiences and encouragement to reach their fullest potential and fulfill their hopes and dreams. I am looking forward to partnering with you and your child’s teachers in ensuring that your child’s future success begins here at Generations.
