Summer Camp Theme: The Great Outdoors

Our theme this week for summer camp is, “The Great Outdoors! ” Our campers enjoyed a field trip to a wild life refuge.  Wild Wings is a not-for-profit educational organization that cares for permanently injured birds of prey or “raptors” which are unable to survive on their own in the wild.  A fact the children found very interesting was that the Great Horned Owl’s favorite food is a skunk!  Afterwards, the kids enjoyed a picnic lunch and nature hike and gathered rocks for a project later this week.  What a perfect way to spend a sunny summer day!
